Bob Otwell
Executive Director
Bob Otwell is a responsible for day-to-day administration, trail development, maintenance, new projects, and fundraising. He holds degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan and Michigan State University, and was a practicing engineer for over 20 years. Bob was the President of Otwell Mawby, P.C., a Traverse City engineering consulting firm. Bob and his wife Laura live near downtown Traverse City and are fortunate to be able to walk or bike to fulfill most of their transportation needs. Bob Wick
Director of Development
Bob has lived in Traverse City since 1991. He joined the TART Board of Directors in 2002 to help with the Pathways to the Future capital campaign. He served as board president for two years until resigning to join the staff as Director of Development in March 2007. Bob is responsible for major gifts to the annual and capital campaigns of TART directed to support and expand the current trail network. Immediate projects include completing the Boardman Lake Trail and finish paving the Leelanau Trail. Prior to joining TART, Bob spent eight years raising money for the Munson Healthcare Regional Foundation. Bob has three children, Steve, Tom and Dani. Email Bob W. at bobw@traversetrails.org
Missy Luyk
Trail Program Specialist
Missy Luyk is the Trail Program Specialist at TART Trails and is responsible for outreach and education programs, volunteer management, media and communications, special projects, events and serves on several TART committees. She began working for TART in 2002 and currently serves on the board of the Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance.
Missy lives in Traverse City and enjoys spending time in the great outdoors kayaking, running, biking, walking her black lab, Wyatt and spending quality time with her partner, David. She also writes a blog called Appreciating Life Up North which is a look into her interests and love of life in Traverse City, Michigan where she aspires to live simply, support local businesses, embrace 'green' living and enjoy every minute of it. Pam Darling
Outreach Coordinator
Pam joined the TART staff in November of 2008. Prior to that she served on TART's transportation initiatives committee as the Cherry Capital Cycling Club's alternative transportation director. She currently serves as the cycling club's Leelanau Harvest Tour director. Pam holds a degree in recreation from the University of Colorado - Boulder and is responsible for coordinating volunteers, processing donations, planning special events, managing TART's newsletter and serves on the outreach and development committees. A resident of the area for twenty years; she lives in the Central neighborhood with her son, Clay and their black lab. They enjoy being able to walk and bike to work and activities year around. Having grown up in Grand Rapids and spent summers on Drummond Island, she is delighted to live where both outdoor and cultural opportunities are abundant. E-mail Pam at pam@traversetrails.org
