Adaptive Sports Day- July 18: Children, teens and adults with disabilities, along with their families and friends, are invited to come out and enjoy adaptive summer sports activities, including water skiing, tubing, boating, sailing, kayaking, canoeing and more. Northern Michigan Adaptive Sports and Recreation, in partnership with the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation Access to Recreation Project, plans to host their annual Summer Sports Day at Hull Park in Traverse City on Saturday, July 18. In addition to the water sports activities, participants may choose to participate in hand-cycling on the TART Trail and activities will be offered in the newly enhanced and accessible Grand Traverse Area Children's Garden. Lunch will also be provided. Adaptive equipment is being provided by Munson Medical Center - Rehab Services, Michigan Adaptive Sports and Traverse Area Community Sailing. Interested participants MUST PRE-REGISTER for this event. The cost of the program is $10 for members, $15 for non-members and $25 for families. Partial scholarships may be available upon request. 5 volunteers are needed to assist with the hand-cycling part of the event.
