Your input is requested to re-think Traverse City's bayfront this week. The city hired a local engineering firm to develop plans for improvements along West Grand Traverse Bay from the M-72/M-22 intersection to the Senior Center. We encourage you to attend one of the public sessions listed below.

This week's efforts follow the extensive "Your Bay, Your Say" process of a few years ago. The “Your Bay” process yielded a desire of many citizens that called for more pedestrian crossings to provide better access to the waterfront. TART certainly supports more safe crossings to the water and if traffic was moving at a slower speed on Grandview Parkway, it would make the crossings easier to navigate. TART would also like to see an improved trailway along the bayfront that could better meet increased trail use demands.

Bayfront planning schedule: To take place at the vacant storefront in the City Opera House at 108 E Front St, Traverse City

• Wednesday March 24 from Noon - 7 p.m.--Design team work session
• Thursday March 25 from 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.--Open house
