Last February, snowshoe athletes from across the United States gathered together in Traverse City to compete in the National Snowshoe Championship Race. 120 snowshoers ran the Vasa Pathway and were cheered on by friends and family. An Olympic official, who was reviewing the sport for Olympic competition, also observed the competition from afar. A Michigan native, Josiah Middaugh won the competition for the men while Anita Ortiz won the race for the women. For more information about next years race, visit the link below.
