and Leelanau State Parks encourage the members/volunteers/users of TART to help celebrate the 90th Anniversary of Michigan State Parks. Celebrations will be taking place in all 97 State Parks on Saturday, June 20th with a State-wide cake cutting ceremony at 4:00 pm.
Activities at Leelanau State Park for children start at 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, there will be three different program hikes (geology, dune formations and forestry) from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. with pie and ice cream to be served at 4:00 pm. Activities at Traverse City State Park include an open house in the new "lodge" three bedroom house from 2:00 - 3:30 pm. The lodge is located near the vehicle entrance on the campground side of the park. A grand opening of the new "play-scape" on the beach side of the park from 3:45 to 4:00 pm with pie and ice cream served at 4:00 pm. All vehicles must have a motor vehicle permit upon entry. Resident annual is $24.00 and a daily is $6.00. Non-resident annual is $29.00 and a daily is $8.00. Bicycles are no-charge.
