The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is in the process of installing new traffic signal equipment at the intersection of US-31/Grandview Parkway and Division Street in Traverse City to improve safety for all users of the system - especially bikers and pedestrians. Work is expected to be completed by Friday, Sept. 26, weather permitting. A new pedestrian push-button system will be installed that will activate an electronic sign overhead to remind drivers that "Turning Traffic Must Yield to Pedestrians."
