The Cherry Roubaix organizers still need a few more helping hands. It's a really cool event if you didn't check out their inaugural event last year.
Cherry Roubaix volunteers: Aug 29-30- The Cherry Roubaix is this weekend. They are urgently in need of volunteers for both races - the Criterium Race on Saturday and the Road Race on Sunday. They need over 200 volunteers to pull off this 2-day event...so your help is requested! These races will be a blast to watch and as a volunteer course marshal, you will have the best viewing spots on the course! Please go to www.cherry-roubaix.com to register to volunteer and for more info about the event. Susan Vigland, a TART board member, is coordinating all of the volunteers. The following shifts are still available: Saturday, August 29: Course Marshals: 12 - 7:30 pm (shorter shifts available); Course Tear Down: 7:30 - 9:30 pm OR Sunday, August 30: Course Marshals: 8 am - 2 pm (shorter shifts available); Course Tear Down: 2-4 pm

PS. Did you know... that the TART Trails organization was formed in 1998 when the Friends of TART, Leelanau Trail Association, North American Vasa and the Boardman Lake Trail steering committee banded as one. The intent was to join the four individual trail groups in the Traverse City area to create a stronger force for recreation and alternative transportation in northwest Michigan.
