Grand Traverse County to hold 2 strategic planning public input sessions (Jan 22 and Jan 29)- The Grand Traverse County Board of Commissioners will be holding two public input sessions for the purpose of shaping the future of Grand Traverse County. The public is invited to attend and participate in both community-driven strategic planning process sessions to provide input to the Board of Commissioners in regards to planning and budgeting for 2010 and beyond. Both events will be held at the Civic Center meeting room from 6:00pm-9:00pm on Thursday, January 22nd and on Thursday, January 29th.

The purpose of the first session will be to review and discuss existing county goals, objectives and actions. The public will have an “open mike†opportunity to express their opinions for action plans, specifically as it relates to 2010. The public would also have the opportunity to complete cards for objectives and actions. All data received from the first session will be compiled and presented to the public at the second session on January 29th. Jim Wiesing, Michigan State University Extension Director and John Sych, County Planning Director will facilitate and all attendees will utilize on-demand Turning Point voting technology to prioritize goals, objectives and actions received from session one public input. Results from the process will be immediately displayed to audience in visual format.
