On Tuesday with flurries swirling in the air, a group of 10 Hagerty employees planted 1000 daffodil bulbs along the Boardman Lake Trail where the new connector runs north to 8th Street. Don’t worry we were assured by knowledgeable garden sources that it was a feasible endeavor. With temperatures hovering in the 20’s the work crew actually broke a sweat! Every spring trail users will be greeted by the daffodil bulbs planted on some of the coldest and darkest days of December.
Thanks to the following businesses for making our idea of planting bulbs in December possible: Brick Wheels for the foot and hand warmers, Pine Hill Village Nursery for locating the bulbs and the assurance that our plan would work, and to Oryana for providing delicious hot cocoa afterward.
We are especially grateful for Hagerty Insurance for including TART Trails in their “12 Days of Caring” and delighted that 10 of their intrepid employees jumped at the chance to make it all happen.
Happy Holidays!

PS We can’t wait for spring to see the cheerful yellow blooms that will bring smiles to all trail users and we hope this becomes an annual tradition!
