The Leelanau Scenic Heritage Route Draft Trailway Plan and Environmental Assessment (for a 25-mile proposed trail along M-22 and M-109 through the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore) is available for public review beginning October 1, 2008 and closing on October 31, 2008.  Copies of the Draft Trailway Plan and Environmental Assessment are available for review at the township offices of Empire, Glen Arbor, Cleveland, and Centerville; the Village of Empire office, Glen Lake Community Library, Leland Township Library, and the Leelanau County Planning and Community Development Department; or online at www.nwm.org/lshr.asp or www.nps.gov/sble. Please direct all comments or questions regarding the Draft Trailway Plan and Environmental Assessment to the Northwest Michigan Council of Governments at the contact information below or on the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore website by October 31, 2008.  At the end of the review period, comments will be compiled and reviewed.  Public comments will also be taken at an Open House on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at the Glen Arbor Township Hall from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  For any questions or comment submission please contact Patty O’Donnell at NWMCOG at 231-929-5039 or via email at pattyodonnell@nwm.cog.mi.us.
