- Oryana’s "Run for Food" and Ice Cream Social- Oct 4: Dust off those sneakers, grab the kids and join the fun. The run starts at 2 pm so gather at the east end of the Oryana parking lot by 1:30 pm. This is a 1-mile run from the Co-op to Hull Park (by the Library) and back on the newly finished Boardman Lake section of the TART trail. All participants are asked to donate a non-perishable food item for the pantry box. If you’d like, obtain a Race Sponsorship Form at the Oryana Customer Service Desk and get your sponsors to also donate food items. The more sponsors you get the more food you can collect for the box. The ultimate winner will be a local food pantry designated by Oryana. For those of you with more energy, try the 5-mile run by continuing on to Medalie Park (by Logan’s Landing) and back. The Ice Cream Social starts around 3 pm immediately following the race and will take place outside the Lake St. Cafe on the patio. We will be scooping up Shelter Family Dairy ice cream and you can make your own sundae from an array of toppings. Sit back and enjoy a little local music by musician John Phillips.
