Thanks to everyone who showed up last Saturday to help out at our 6 different work bee locations! Many of you continued working through the rain, sleet, and thunder and lightening! A lot got accomplished out there, but after drying off and doing some assessments, we need to reschedule a few make-up work bees. (I looked at the extended forecast on weather.com and it looks like we’ll stay dry this time!)
Here’s the scoop!
1. TART Trail- Saturday, May 2 at 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Meet at 4 Mile/TART intersection. Board member, Jim Dombrowski, will lead the group. Please bring work gloves, trash bags, and tree-trimming tools. We need 6-8 volunteers.
2. Boardman Lake Trail- Saturday, May 2 from 10:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. Meet at Hull Park. The TC Chamber Young Professionals are taking on this project as a group. If you want to come out and join them, the more the merrier. Please bring gloves, trash bags and brooms to sweep the bridges.
3. Leelanau Trail- Monday, May 4 from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Meet at Shady Lane/Leelanau Trail intersection near Suttons Bay. Project scope is to plant trees and shrubs for a windbreak. Please bring work gloves and a shovel. We need 10 volunteers.
To volunteer for any of these opportunities, please email Missy at missy@traversetrails.org
Thanks a bunch!
Missy
P.S. Thanks also to all of you who have signed up to help with the bridge redecking project on the TART Trail that is also scheduled for next week (May 4-6.)
