TART would like to thank our donors and volunteers for helping TART pull off a successful trail cleanup on Saturday, April 20, 2002.Despite the inclimate weather, we had many dedicated volunteers donate time and energy to pick up trash along both the Leelanau Trail and TART Trails, spanning from Suttons Bay to Acme. Volunteers also collected and gave away railroad ties, trimmed trees, and cleaned a ditch. Other volunteers tended to gardens at area parks and parking lots.
Generous donations made by Meijer and Great Harvest Bread allowed TART to purchase supplies and breakfast for our devoted volunteers. Cleanup participants were very appreciative of the food and perhaps it was the extra boost that everyone needed to get through the chilly morning. Dave Monstrey also deserves special recognition for donating the use of his tractor to haul railroad ties on the Leelanau Trail.
