TART is Seeking Survey Volunteers

Once again, TART is in need of survey volunteers. The survey is about 80% complete. There are only 2 more survey time slots to fill! So, if you haven't already volunteered, your chances are running out!

There are seven survey locations to choose from including:

Site A: 3 Mile Rd./TART (at Mitchell Creek)
Site B: Barlow/ TART (behind McLain Cycle)
Site C: Murchie Bridge/ TART (Grandview near Boardman River)
Site D: Division/ TART (bayside, near Grandview crossing)
Site E: Cherrybend/ Leelanau Trail (at parking area)
Site F: Suttons Bay/ Leelanau Trail (at 4th street parking area)
Site G: Vasa Trailhead in Acme (off Bartlett Road)

Each volunteer shift will last for 4 hours and requires volunteers to stop users along the trail and ask them to complete a survey form. Surveyors will also keep a tally of users going by. If you enjoy talking to people, then TART's user survey will be a perfect fit for you! Please call Missy at the TART office to volunteer. 941-4300.

Volunteer times and locations NEEDED:
Saturday, September 21, 2002, Site F, 4PM-8PM
Sunday, September 22, 2002, Site C, 4PM-8PM

TART Trails is a 501(c)(3) organization and relies on a group of dedicated volunteers to manage and complete special projects like the User Survey Project. TART's 2002 User Survey would not be possible without so many friends of TART. The User Survey is TART's first major attempt at finding out who uses the trail system. We are anxious to see the survey results and are thankful that so many community members have stepped up to help us along the way. THANK YOU!

Thanks for volunteering,

Missy Luyk

TART's user survey is designed to distinguish user groups; assess trail usage, safety and accessibility; identify the economic impact of trail users; and provide a comfortable means for user input. The survey will also determine how extensively certain segments of the TART Trail system are used and the overall functionality of the existing trail system.
