At a recent board meeting, the makeup of the Traverse Area Recreation & Transportation Trails governing board saw some changes.

Three long-term, very dedicated board members stepped off the board and four new board members were elected. George Lombard, Dave Monstrey and June Thaden were all founding members of the TART Trails board and each came to the board with rich trail backgrounds. George was instrumental in the development of the Vasa Pathway while Dave played a similar role developing the Leelanau Trail. June co-founded the group that foresaw the development of the TART trail. We truly appreciate the devotion of these three individuals.

Cari Noga, Doug Spence, Gail Dall’Olmo and Wayne Seger have been newly elected to the TART Trails board. Each brings many strong qualities to our already committed board of directors.

Our newly elected executive board slate is as follows: Robert Wick, President; Tim Brick, Vice President; John Tune, Treasurer and Lois Bahle, Secretary.

Board President Robert Wick comments, “Our community is very fortunate to have such a devoted group of trail leaders. TART Trails has recently evolved from it’s grassroots beginnings into a professionally run organization. I am thrilled to be a part of it.”
