We are in need of a few volunteers to help with weed control, enter data in the office and help with the Cherry Roubaix event!

Weed control volunteers: Aug 26- We need 6 volunteers who own power weed whips to assist with weed control on the Leelanau Trail at Shady Lane next Wednesday evening Aug 26 from 6:30-8:30pm. Brian Fisher, a TART board member, will lead the crew to weed-whip around hundreds of seedlings that were planted this spring. Each seedling was mulched when planted but with all the rain this summer season, the tall grasses are out-competing our seedlings! Please email missy@traversetrails.org if you can help out! Brian will provide some nourishment and cold beverages for those who volunteer. Sounds like fun!

 

Cherry Roubaix volunteers: Aug 29-30- The Cherry Roubaix is right around the corner. They are still in need of volunteers for both races - the Criterium Race on Saturday and the Road Race on Sunday. They need over 200 volunteers to pull off this 2-day event...so your help is requested! These races will be a blast to watch and as a volunteer course marshal, you will have the best viewing spots on the course! Please go to www.cherry-roubaix.com to register to volunteer and for more info about the event. Susan Vigland, a TART board member, is coordinating all of the volunteers. Choose from the following shifts: Saturday, August 29: Course Set-up: 7 -11 am; Registration (kids and adult races), T-shirt Sales: 9 am - 4 pm (shorter shifts available); Course Marshals: 12 - 7:30 pm (shorter shifts available); Course Tear Down: 7:30 - 9:30 pm OR Sunday, August 30: Course Marshals: 8 am - 2 pm (shorter shifts available); Course Tear Down: 2-4 pm

 

Office data entry: We have about 20-40 hours of data entry work available. Minimal training is required. If you have daytime availability (between 8:30-5:00) and are interested in helping in the office, then please contact missy@traversetrails.org If you can pick up a 3 or 4 hour shift, that would really help chip away at the project!
