Alternative Transportation Expo
We are not currently planning an Expo for 2009. We are looking into the idea of working with the DDA on a Friday Night Live that is "green" themed this summer. More details to come.

2008 Expo
24-hour Bike Challenge
The Challenge started at 7:30 AM in front of Pangea's Pizza, moved to the State Theater during the day, and then concluded at 7:30 AM at the Oryana breakfast.

Riders from the Hagerty Race Team took turns on a stationary trainer, riding 440 miles (the distance from TC to Toronto).

And it really was 24 hours...These pictures were taken by TART Trails' Director of Development, Bob Wick, at 3:00 AM.
Bike Rodeo for Kids

Led by AAA of Michigan. The bike rodeo was designed to teach kids how to signal, complete a shoulder check and stop at stop signs.

A tricycle course was also set up--it's never too early for bike safety!
Demos and Displays

The bike shops showed all the latest and greatest in commuter bikes and gear. Plus displays by Vespa and EcoCars.

BATA hybrid-electric bus was on view.

This Smart Car, shown by its proud new owners, Great Lakes Environmental Center, attracted a lot of attention. Hybrid cars also on display.
