Many events and activities are planned throughout Smart Commute Week. They include:
Bicycle Commuting Classes
Classes are again offered this year to provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to ride your bike on the road. The classes will be taught by League of American Bicyclists Certified Instructor, Reuben Chapman. The 3-hour courses will include 2-hours of classroom instruction and 1-hour of on-road training. Smart Commute to Breakfast
Who says you can't get anything free anymore? You can get free breakfast all week for using alternative transportation during Smart Commute Week, June 1-5! Get the skinny here.
Free Massages
And while you're at breakfast, stop by the Living Light Massage tables. Get in the action... Thursday morning at the Cuppa Joe breakfast and on Friday morning at the Mustard's breakfast.
Free Yoga
Yoga on the river will be offered at the Hagerty breakfast by Sacred Space on Wedneseday June 3.
Hoopini
Free hoopini excercise and demonstrations at the BATA/Bubba's breakfast on Wednesday June 3.
Right Brain Cache 'N Dash
A geocaching competition that's designed to offer an incentive to geocaching novices and enthusiasts alike to participate in the week's activities on and off the trails.
Awards & Prizes
June 6 at 8:00 a.m.- Smart commute to breakfast at Mustard's and join us for the raffle drawing and Commuter Cup awards.
Commuter Cup Challenge
The Commuter Cup Challenge is the heart and soul of Smart Commute Week. Last year, many organizations competed. Challenge your co-workers to walk, bike, carpool, or take BATA to work and try to win the commuting contest! Click here for more info!
Free Carpool Parking
All week long, carpoolers get free parking in the parking deck. Make sure you tell the parking attendant that you are carpooling as part of Smart Commute Week.
Smart Commute Lots
For your convenience, Smart Commute lots have been designated for those who live too far to bike or walk to their workplaces. A Smart Commute lot is a designated parking area for you to park your car and finish your commute by biking or walking the rest of the way. Check out the parking options here.
